From crisis to crisis: towards a new world order? This is the theme chosen by the organizers of the Amadeus Institute to mark the return of its flagship event, the MEDays forum, which took place from November 2 to 5, 2022. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the last edition dated back to 2019.
Despite significant competition – Morocco is one of the main hosts of international conferences and summits of all kinds in the region – the MEDays remain one of the kingdom’s unmissable annual events, thanks to the strong cast and several of its participants. More than 200 researchers, former ministers or even consultants took turns to discuss several cross-cutting themes around Africa.
Met at the end of the event, the president of the Amadeus Institute and founder of MEDays, Brahim Fassi-Fihri, talks about this 14th edition which, as il recognizes it himself, has served as much as a platform for dialogue as an opportunity for Moroccan diplomacy to advance its agenda.
[Série] Morocco: power, business, religion… Welcome to the Fassis!
Capcov: After a cancellation in 2020 followed by a remote edition the following year, the MEDays forum is back. What do you remember from this 14e editing ?
Brahim Fassi-Fihri: Nothing replaces exchanges and interactions, both on stage, during conferences and debates, but also in the corridors. This edition is not only a cover edition, it also shows that the event continues of growing up.
