The Egyptian tycoon Naguib Sawiris is said to be ready to invest 100 million dollars (nearly 101.4 million euros) in Morocco. This is what he said to Asharq Business in marge of the Choiseul Africa Business Forum which took place on October 19 and 20 in Casablanca. “We will enter the Moroccan market in the years to come, if we find a sector where there is no great competition”, indicated the president of the Orascom Investment group.

Among the sectors that hold his attention: technology. And particularly charging electric cars. “Morocco is preparing to build a battery factory for electric vehicles. If the authority concerned adds to this investment opportunity that of investing in charging stations for these cars, we will be very interested in this project”, underlines the tycoon who made his fortune in the telecom sector.
