In Abidjan, the judges of the economic and financial criminal division of the Court of First Instance of Abidjan-Plateau are under pressure. They are indeed responsible for investigating a sensitive case, in which several businessmen very connected to the political and economic spheres et judiciary are involved. The Grand Lodge of Côte d’Ivoire (GLCI), some influential members of which were arrested as part of this investigation, is keeping a low profile. The Grandmaster True Silver preferred to suspend in June the two “brothers of light” suspected of being involved in this affair: Richard Ghorayeb et Beloved Dominique.

At the end of August, the judges began to interview the suspects, who had already been heard by the police. According to our sources, Hussein Taan was questioned durant several hours per Jean-Claude Aboya, one of the judges of the criminal division, on certain financial flows made through Cakes and bread, a pastry shop founded by his father in 2008, of which he is the manager, and Pasta e Pizza, a restaurant he co-created with an Italian, whose shares were bought by Bartolo Bruzzaniti. The latter was sentenced in Italy ten years ago before settling in Côte d’Ivoire.
