“It is with bitterness that I note the absence of certain industrial leaders. In his capacity as Chairperson of the African Union (AU), Macky Sall opened the Financing Summit of adaptation and set the tone. “They are the main polluters of this planet, they are the ones who should finance these changes”, he added to the address of the great absentees of this preparatory meeting for COP 27 which should be held in November, in Egypt. “It leaves a bad taste in our mouths. I’m a little disappointed to be honest,” he added. “Those who should be among us are not,” added the chairman of the AU Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat.
