Heard for the second time in less than two weeks by the courts, Jean-Marc Kabund did not, this time, leave the general prosecutor’s office at the Court of Cassation as a free man. For follow-up for “public insults, harmful accusations and offenses against the Head of State”, Jean-Marc Kabund was placed under a provisional arrest warrant. The information was confirmed to us by his lawyers as well as by the Congolese police. According to our sources, the opponent must be taken to Makala prison.

The former head of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS, in power), has been in the crosshairs of Congolese justice since the launch speech of his party, the Alliance for Change, in which he violently attacked Felix Tshisekedi. He had on this occasion accused the president of being “a public danger at the top of the state”. He also denounced what he described as “notorious incompetence” and « mismanagement institutionalized”.
