On July 14, the Director General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) and National Security (DGSN), Abdellatif Hammouchi, made new appointments among the security walis. He s’agit of a partial movement which concerns the first level of responsibility at the regional level within three police prefectures: Tangier, Al Hoceima and Fez. In a press release, the DGSN is “delighted, through these appointments, to renew the elites and security executives responsible for managing the decentralized interests of national security”.

These new appointments also aim to “optimize the management of human resources (HR)”, to “consolidate the circulation of positions of responsibility” and more generally to renew the hierarchy. A management method introduced by Abdellatif Hammouchi, “first cop in the kingdom” since his appointment as head of the DGST and then the DGSN in 2015, and which promotes the renewal of teams and the development of skills.
