Troubleshooting

Help with Garbled Sounding Downloads

Garbled sounding MP3 downloads or those which produce an error can sometimes be traced back to a corrupt download. If the file you download sounds garbled or produces an error, make sure you are using an up-to-date browser and audio software; try downloading the file a second time, just to be sure.

Help with Streaming RealAudio

RealAudio is a standard, multi-platform, streaming media technology. The streaming RealAudio files we provide are of much lower quality than the MP3 files, but allow for immediate listening. RealAudio Player is required to listen to streaming RealAudio files. Click here to download RealAudio. Be sure to look for the Free Basic Player.

If you are prompted to save a file when attempting to stream RealAudio, RealAudio is probably not installed. If you are still having trouble with RealAudio click here for advanced troubleshooting assistance.

Help with MP3 Files

The MP3 files provided on this site are of broadcast quality and may take anywhere from several minutes to a half an hour to download, depending on your internet connection.

To save the files locally, Shift-Click on the file, navigate to the directory where you want to save your audio files and choose Save. You may want to create a special folder to keep the files in for storage and later reference, however all files are available on our Archive Page.

For playing back MP3 files, we recommend WinAmp for the PC. Click here to download WinAmp. RealAudio may also be configured to playback MP3 files.

Printing Problems

If printing from the main Capitol Coverage page appears to be incomplete or have poor formatting when on paper, there is a more basic, larger type, and generally more printable version available off of the Capitol Coverage Archive Page.

Searching the Archives

Currently there is no search engine functionality for our archives, however, they are all posted on only one Archive Page at this time. To search it, hit Control-F (Hold down the control key, then hit the F key, and release), or the equivalent Find command on your computer to search the text of the webpage for the contents of an older report.
